Our strainer baskets are designed for a range of strainer sizes. The standard basket for smaller strainers (1/2" to 1") features 1/32" perforations. Larger strainers (1-1/2" to 8") come standard with baskets featuring 1/8" perforations. For specialized applications, we offer made-to-order 316 stainless steel baskets in 200 or 325 mesh.

The Eaton Model 72 has been the industry standard simplex basket strainer for more than 75 years. It is perfect for industrial and commercial applications in which the line can be temporarily shut down for strainer basket cleaning or changeout. A reason for its popularity is the unusually large basket capacity.

Keckley Cast Iron (ASTM A 126, Class B) simplex basket strainers provide greater screen area than a Y-strainer, you are optimizing the total open area and minimizing potential pressure loss through the basket.

Cast simplex strainers are used in applications where the flow can be interrupted for basket cleaning. These strainers are an excellent choice for protection of pumps, meters, valves, traps, spray nozzles, and many more applications.

Unwanted particles are removed as the process media passes through a perforated strainer basket contained inside the strainer body. The basket traps the unwanted material while allowing the process media to flow freely. Available in PVC, CPVC, Eastar®, GFPP, and now PVDF!

Specifically designed for conformance in the European market, the model 72X Simplex cast manual strainer complements Eaton’s range of manual pipeline strainers. The model 72X is CE-marked to Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) and is compliant with the EN13445 and AD 2000 pressure vessel codes.

Simplex basket strainers are used when liquids require regular or frequent cleaning, and when the line can be shut down for short periods to clean or change the basket. Basket strainers hold substantially more material than Y strainers and offer a lower pressure drop.
