2008年12月3日 · I have a 3HM35F Yanmar with a 3 blade 16" prop. I'd like some feedback regarding the RPM people are running their engines at. Sometimes I'll run it at 2400 RPM for 4-5 hours if I'm in a hurry. Not sure if this is pushing the envelope. I've heard that running the engine at too low an rpm can cause carbon buildup.

That would be the distance from the top of the hole in the engine down to the full oil level.

2009年1月10日 · Yanmar's are know to put out some smoke, we have a 3GM30 and it does smoke a little. We have the same thing happen when we have a dirty hull or prop and the engine has to do some extra work. Also, you need to run it close to full throtle for quite some time. Maybe you have soot build up in the mixing elbow.

Note that the engine mfrs don't make their own starters and alternators, they get them from Hitachi, Nippondensa, etc. The markup they put on the same unit with their part number on it is crazy.

I to have a Yanmar 3HM35F with a Kanzaki transmission. Yes you can replace the transmission with a Hurth but you need to add engine mounts to the Yanmar to support the engine.

2008年12月15日 · I deferred my freak out until I confirmed this wkd that indeed there was ATF in the gear (Kanzaki 2.62 attached to my Yanmar 2GM20F). FWIW, the service manual does specify SAE 30 or equivalent motor oil for the gear. So, I, with restraint, politely inquired with the yard manager today over the phone about the use of ATF in the gear.
