42RLE Transmission Question - Jeep Enthusiast Forums
2020年3月6日 · The 42RLE transmission with the VLP feature has a line pressure sensor to monitor the actual line pressure and a Variable Force Solenoid (VFS to control the line pressure). The basic control strategy "reduces" line pressure during in-gear conditions to lower transmission oil pump load and other parasitic losses, and it, thereby, improves fuel ...

42RLE rebuild - what to improve | Jeep Enthusiast Forums
2008年9月25日 · At some point after 2003, something minor was done to the 42RLE to do with that and I think it's just a minor redesign where the pan and/or ATF pickup goes. An external tranny cooler is not hard to install and is generally always a good idea if you wheel in hot conditions or tow on steep long upgrades where it could get hot.
Is the 4 speed 42rle acceptable? - Jeep Enthusiast Forums
2013年7月11日 · Although I would prefer a Rubicon with the lockers, dana 44s, 4:1 transfer case and no slip yokes, I am concerned about the weak, finicky transmission. Can guys who run the 42rle chime in and let me know your experience with the transmission? I understand the 3 speed is pretty simple and reliable if the vent hole is modified. Thanks. Fugitive
42rle upgrade? - Jeep Enthusiast Forums
2010年9月4日 · your "upgrade" options are very limited for the 42RLE. They run hot to begin with stock. I'd say whatever trans cooler you have, get a bigger one for towing. The biggest thing is gears. 4.10s or even 4.56s should have come with 31s from the factory. 4.88s for 33s, 5.38s for 35s. I'd suggest installing 4.56s for towing in hills with 31s.

2017年3月31日 · 2003 3.7L Liberty, 42RLE, 120k miles. Symptoms - While accelerating & going through gears, the engine will occasionally (not every trip) do a high Rev as though the transmission did not engage a gear. Reading online (mainly these forums) people point to the input/output sensors on the transmission.
42 re vs. 42 rle - Jeep Enthusiast Forums
2008年10月24日 · The 42LE was modified in 2003 as the 42RLE, originally for the then-new Jeep Liberty. It is a 42LE transaxle, modified for RWD use by removing the integral differential and transfer chain. Power flow exits the rear of the now transmission. The case has also been modified. This transmission is still in production for several models. Applications ...
42RLE Shudder - Jeep Enthusiast Forums
2020年12月26日 · Hi guys. I have a 2003 TJ 4.0 with a 42RLE Over the last 2 weeks I've noticed a slight-moderate shudder at around 40-45mph. Narrowed it down to 3rd gear when the TCC locks up. Its 100% replicable by driving 45mph, letting off the gas for 2 sec and getting back on it, RPMs climb to 2400, then...

2015年2月8日 · The OE filter seems to be the only one that works with the 42RLE. The symptoms you're describing (slips 2-3, revs up, then goes into 3rd and immediately into 4th) are exactly what happens when the filter sucks air.
