2021年10月24日 · 480i and especially 576i is a very acceptable resolution for smaller CRTs especially if using RGB which provides the sharpest and cleanest picture. I still use a 21" CRT as my kitchen TV with a DVB-T decoder using RGB and I swear that thing looks like HD.

2020年2月22日 · EDIT 6/2020: It looks like they may have released a revision to this device and it may no longer support 480i output (480p is the lowest it goes on the updated info page). The Customer Q&A section has people from 2016 confirming that it does work and reviews as late as October 2019 also confirming 480i. I purchased mine in 2018.

2022年7月23日 · 480i is a 240p signal that has essentially been line doubled. 480p is literally double the resolution, as it uses a proper 480 scan lines. It's totally worth the upgrade, and Wii Component cables can be had for pretty cheap.

2020年6月9日 · A 480i signal from composite cables will look much worse than 480i from component. For component cables, 480p will look smoother on a modern display while 480i will work better with CRTs (CRTs mostly don't even support progressive scan and even if yours does, 480p will probably introduce input lag)

2023年5月24日 · However, an OSSC is still needed for 240p signals, and these models accept 3x line modes. Late Panasonic units have piss poor compatibility and worse 480i handling. On the other hand, late (2011~2014) Samsung models accept OSSC signals very well, even 5x line mode works. 480i is processing is worse than the early Panasonic models I mentioned.

It patches the loader used by some games that startup on a v1.6 Xbox with scrambled video when 480p or higher resolutions are enabled on an NTSC region set Xbox and a high-definition AV pack / cable is connected to the AVIP port.

480i, but purely for compatibility reasons. The Xbox (alongside the rest of the 6th Gen) was made in that sour spot for video standards where it can technically output 4 different resolutions (480i, 480p, 720p, & 1080i), each of which at two different aspects ratios (4:3 & 16:9).

2020年8月1日 · I picked up this converter and it converts 1080p down to 480i over component really well. Pretty nice for playing 2D games on a CRT TV. Looks like it’s unavailable at the moment but it frequently gets restocked from what I’ve seen. Everything else that I tried only did 480p, which was a no go for my TV, or was composite.
