2019年5月18日 · 5654 is an industrial version of 6AK5. 5654W is a ruggedized version. 5654/6AK5 are same as European EF95. Some NOS tubes have both EF95 and 6AK5 or EF95 and 5654 on their boxes. They were extremely common in commercial, military and aerospace equipment and there are a lot of NOS tubes in the world.

2019年12月21日 · The GE5654 was a big improvement over the 6J1 for me. No more microphonics for one. Also the 6J1 sounded rather thin compared to the 5654. Much better bottom end with the 6554 for one. When I bought mine they were only a couple bucks each. I see they have jumped up in price now.

I am experiencing less bass, less bass than 6J1 Chinese tubes and sound quality is far inferior than the 6J1. I think my tubes have over 30 burn in time already. My set...

2021年8月18日 · Many use 5654's to replace the Chinese 6J1's. 6AK5's and a couple others should work though. The GE JAN5654W's are the more popular choice. They aren't michrphonic and sound good also. Back when I bought mine they were less than $5 each.

2016年10月17日 · Hmmm. I think whomever gave you this recommendation was talking about guitar amplifiers, a similar but different application, because remote or semi-remote cutoff tubes differ from sharp-cutoff tubes in ways that make them unsuitable for HiFi.

2018年6月17日 · So I have one of those cheesy little 6j1 preamps that I use in my digital chain. I have been running some GE JAN 5654's which sound lots better than the stock Chinese tubes. Anyway, I decided to order a set of what are supposedly NOS Tung Sol 6AK5's from, supposedly, 1945. These would be the oldest tubes I have ever personally owned if true.

2019年12月11日 · The 5654W's made a big difference over the 6J1's that came in one of my headphone amps. Again, the 6J1's were very thin and tinny sounding. Once I put the 5654's in the bass and midrange filled out nicely. Quieter too.

2017年11月5日 · No I am not aware of any but the 5654w is a great upgrade for the 6j1's in the Chinese gear. I have a headphone amp and a preamp I use the GE's in definite upgrade in sound.
