In fact, if you wanted to "A-B" compare the "sound" of the 12AT7 to that of the 6AQ8, you could just get a pair of 6DT8, to contrast with the 6AQ8s. The 6DT8 IS the same tube as the 12AT7, just with a 6 volt heater (only) pin-out (same pin-out as the 6AQ8). Regards, Gordon.

2018年2月1日 · I use 6DT8 old stock vs. 6AQ8's in all of my FISHER's. Hell of a lot cheaper, and literally the same tube with slightly less current needed for the heaters. Why pay almost $20.00 for a 6AQ8 when a 6DT8 will cost no more than a Lincoln.

2024年2月20日 · Looking for replacements for a pair of 6aq8 tubes in a kenwood tuner, I turned to the internet. I found a 6ev7 under a list of suitable replacements and they’re considerably cheaper. Well not so much. It works however it shifted the all the stations 30mhz up the scale! Anyway hopefully anyone looking for a 6aq8 replacement comes across this.

2020年5月27日 · The 6DT8 is a plug and play sub for the 6AQ8/ECC85. You can also re-wire the heater connections and use a 12AT7,which I find is more readily available in my area. A realignment is generally not absolutely necessary for these subs,but probably wouldn't hurt on anything old enough to need a tube

2009年5月2日 · No. ECC85/6AQ8 has a gain of 57 and a transconductance of around 5500 umhos... the 6N1 has a gain of around 35 and a transconductance of around 4500 umhos. The gain difference will change the circuit operation...

2015年4月28日 · It depends on the circuit if a proposed sub will work at all, or good enough. In a signal level circuit, a poor choice (say a 12AX7 in place of a 12AU7) will probably distort, but not likely burn up anything.
