First was a Proof 22" carbon fiber 280AI barrel which shoots both 143 gr Hammer Hunter (2990 fps) and Federal 155 Terminal Ascent (2883 fps) sub-MOA at 200 in early testing.

2017年4月29日 · By my limited understanding of the economics of production, the 7mm Backcountry should be significantly less expensive than a brass based equivalent to provide a value proposition to the consumer. The "equivalent" to me is the 28 Nosler and while AmmoSeek shows some at $2.50 each, Midway and local is more like $5.00.

2025年2月13日 · If it is just for deer under 500 yds then any 6.5mm faster than a Creedmore will do just fine. The 6.5 PRC is a great cartridge. If you think you are ever going to want to hunt something bigger like an elk or brown bear, then a fast 7mm or .270 would be better. As far as barrel length, go with the longest barrel you can tolerate.

2025年1月16日 · It is not about bullet weight, it is about bullet length, plastic tip length, and velocity; with bullet length being driven by lead core with jacket vs. mono-metal for a given weight and bullet design (e.g. VLD vs. traditional) for example a a 160 grain Hornady CX will not stabilize in 1:9 @ 2700 fps but 162 Cup/Core BTSP will and a Berger 168 will also.
