Andal (ISO 15919: Āṇḍāḷ), also known as Godhai, Nachiyar, and Godha Devi, is the only female Alvar. [1] ( Orthodoxy posits the number of Alvars as ten, though there are other references that include Andal and Madhurakavi Alvar, making the number twelve.) [2] She is an avatara of the earth goddess Bhumi, a consort of the preserver god Vishnu. [3] .

The Andals are one of the three major ethnic groups from whom the humans of Westeros descend, the others being the First Men and the Rhoynar. The coming of the Andals to Westeros caused the fall of many kingdoms of the First Men which had developed in the wake of their Pact with the children of the forest.
