BM59 Over Gassed Issue - M14 Forum
2021年2月8日 · Apparently the BM59 is pretty picky in regards to ammo, you have to use M80. Iv tried both Lake City and PPU. PPU tended to do slightly better, possibly because the brass is a little cleaner. I’ll look into the gas plug, thanks. What about a longer or stiffer spring? That might slow down the cycling.
New JRA BM59E- Accuracy? Review? - M14 Forum
2024年3月27日 · The BM59's op rod is shorter than the that of the Garand, and the ejection cycle is more violent. What could possible go wrong, besides bent op-rods, or sheared lugs. At a minimum, using the wrong ammo will beat the hell out of your rifle, and combined with 80+ year old parts, will shorten its operational life.

2022年2月24日 · My BM59 project still has a ways to go, but at Christmas I did get a new Criterion M1 308W Garand barrel for Tim Shufflin to machine down to BM59 profile. Hopefully receiver work will take place this summer. I got an extra BM59 stock in better shape than the parts kit stock, but an original Nigerian stock is what I really want.
M14 vs BM59 - M14 Forum
2014年4月29日 · The BM59, as conceived, designed, and issued by the Italians in my opinion is the equal of the USGI M14, and more robust than the investment cast receiver M1A's (although I think the forged/cast debate is more relevant to guns destined for the battlefield...modern M1A's will all outlive their owners, or most of them will).

2005年6月4日 · This from a thread on Machinegun Board's BM59 forum, "the detachable flash hider / muzzle brake you have is a 'bastardised' version that Reese Surplus sells / sold. The correct version is 2 inches or so longer!" Here is a link to that thread: Problem With Quick Detachable Muzzle Brake That is why a BM59 bayonet does not work.

BM59 project finished and ready to fire~ | M14 Forum
2017年10月28日 · Got into this project helping a good friend. He decided to build a BM59 rifle and his project of one rifle turned into six rifles. The base receivers were USGI Garand drill rifles ( he had two Beretta receivers for his keepers ). I always liked the Beretta BM59 but never purchased one back in the day.
Sante Fe BM59 - M14 Forum
2004年8月30日 · A few BM59 manufacturers built BM59’s in this fashion, using re-welded Garand receiver parts, modified two grove ’03 barrels, and surplus Garand parts. Many were built by somewhat amateur gunsmiths in their garages or basements, and the quality of these re-welds may vary quite a bit.
BM-59/62/59E - M14 Forum
2024年9月1日 · No, a BM59E muzzle brake will not fit a BM59 or 62. The BM59E still utilizes the Garand gas system, though with shortened op to match the 1/2 inch shortened barrel. The BM59/62 uses a new, non-Garand, "drop down" gas cylinder that sits a fraction of an inch lower below the barrel, hence the straight 59/62 op rod versus the curved Garand and 59E ...
