Earning the Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN) prepares a flight nurse for the complexities of delivering care at altitude, whether you are responding to the scene of an accident, a natural disaster or an inter-facility transfer.

The CFRN exam consists of 175 items (150 scored and 25 unscored pretest items). How are the exams scored? Your exam score is based on your performance on the exam, i.e., based on the number of exam items answered correctly (raw score).

The CEN®, CFRN®, CPEN®, CTRN®, and TCRN® certification programs are accredited by the Accreditation Board for Specialty Nursing Certification (ABSNC).

You must hold a current BCEN certification (CEN, CFRN, CPEN, CTRN or TCRN) in the program you wish to recertify. You must have a current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license, or a nursing certificate that is equivalent to a Registered Nurse in either the United States, a US Territory, Canada or Australia.

The CFRN exam is for flight nurses who want to demonstrate their expertise and knowledge in flight nursing. BCEN is the only source for emergency flight care nurses to obtain recognized certification enhancing knowledge and performance.

2023年7月5日 · BCEN launches the CFRN ® (Certified Flight Registered Nurse) certification program. 507 nurses sit for the first exam on July 24, 1993. The pen-and-paper exam is next offered on February 1994, and will be offered just twice a year. BCEN’s original CFRN certification logo, used from 1993-2018.
