2024年11月26日 · The Thanksgiving Gettysburg Coin Show will be this Friday, November 29th and Saturday, November 30th. Times are 9am-6pm on Friday and 9am to 3pm on Saturday. For this show only, we will be back in the All-Star Sports Complex, which is across the parking lot from the Eisenhower Hotel. It is the place we originally started this show.

Today (November 15, 2024) I attended the Baltimore Whitman Coin Expo, so here is my brief recap of my experiences together with some (very hasty and poorly-shot) photos of everything I bought. I arrived at the show a little before 11 AM (doors had opened at 10), and left around 3 PM, with just a short break in the middle for lunch.

I having knowingly purchased an overgraded coin because the price was right and the coin had an unusual characteristic and amazing eye appeal that was uncommon.

2024年12月4日 · 2016 Canada 5 Dollar 1-oz Silver Superman Coin This coin is made of 0.9999 fine silver and features the Superman S-Shield design on the reverse. The obverse features the 2003 effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. The coin also includes a micro-engraved maple leaf and the number 16 to indicate the year of issue. That was the year I bought some rolls.

But then they say, "This is the VERY FIRST coin struck of the historic 230th anniversary Flowing Hair gold coin series," The way I'm reading it, is, for that to be true, then production minting of the non-privy coins could not have started prior to that Privy Coin being struck.

2024年11月10日 · I believe Coin World is still published by Amos Press, a printing company. Coin World was founded with the spare capacity in the local paper business back in the 1960s. If anything, they are getting out of the printing business due to digital publishing and the decline of local newspapers. Perhaps @CaptHenway might have some insight?

2024年11月9日 · It also seems logical considering this is a very special, high relief proof coin design, with a very unusual hundred cent value with incuse edge lettering, missing In God we trust, etc. The FH is a new US type coin, possibly a one year only item, that will have many collectors quite interested, even if they can't afford the privy version.
