Sharing an exit with the Riverbanks Zoo, the Saluda Riverwalk is minutes away from downtown Columbia. There’s always lots going on at this riverwalk, so we’ll walk you through its features, things to do, and what to know.

South from the Trailhead, after crossing the boardwalk overlooking the Millrace Rapids, the Riverwalk continues riverside. Looping past the Riverbanks Zoo, it's far removed from the roadway. This section is shaded and scenic with boardwalks, benches, picnic tables, and interpretative historic markers.

2020年11月2日 · The 7.3 mile trail stretch goes from I-26 to the Broad River and now gives Columbia residents access to the Saluda River that was previously only accessible privately. The most notable portion of the Riverwalk is the addition of Boyd Island, one part of the new expansion termed “Phase 1B.”

As you enter the Saluda Riverwalk, you can turn left walking along a winding boardwalk and trail that will bring you behind the Zoo. Along the way, you will see people tubing, canoeing and kayaking on the water while listening to wild animal sounds. If you turn right at the entrance, you’ll find great areas to fish for trout or stripers.
