What is DDR3L? - Tom's Hardware Forum
2012年8月24日 · DDR3L modules are by design backwards compatible with DDR3 which means that they can be inserted into a motherboard that does not support DDR3L profiles without issue. I know for a fact that Hynix uses the exact same chips for both, and simply picks ones that have desirable performance characteristics for DDR3L.
Question What is the difference between DDR3 and DDR3L for …
2022年4月3日 · DDR3L is just lower voltage RAM. Typically DDR3 runs at 1.5V. DDR3L modules are 1.35V sometimes 1.5V. Typically you can use DDR3L RAM in a laptop capable of DDR3. However, usually, you can't use DDR3 in a laptop that only supports DDR3L.
DDR3 + DDR3L compatible? - Tom's Hardware Forum
2016年5月24日 · DDR3 and DDR3L are not necessarily cut from the same wafer: they may use a slightly different process and macro designs tuned for lower voltage at the expense of higher latency just like Intel and other chip designers do when they have designs tuned for mobile where power is at a high premium and others for desktop where power is only a secondary concern.
DDR3L into DDR3 Slot - Tom's Hardware Forum
2014年8月9日 · Standard DDR3L Modules should be backwards compatible and accept 1.5V as well. Looking to the spec that you sent it says: Module Voltage 1.35 V / 1.5 V And this is the difference: DDR3L can run with 1.35 as well as with 1.5V .. so if there is no other incompatibility with your motherboard and the memtest runs fine this should be no Problem ...
DDR4 instead of a DDR3L Ram to upgrade laptop ... - Tom's …
2017年12月6日 · the CPU can work with SO-DIMM DDR4 (standard 1.2V) or SO-DIMM DDR3L (low voltage <= 1.35V). But not at the same time and only with motherboards which are designed for each technology generation. SO-Dimm DDR3 can be tested, but most likely won´t even post/boot. Wouldn´t harm your laptop though. Would get 8GB SO-DIMM DDR3L-1600MHz …
Mixing DDR3L with DDR3 of different brands in a PC with DDR3L …
2015年2月7日 · Is it Okay to mix DDR3L with DDR3 of different brands in a laptop that supports DDR3L. I have already tried using it and the PC boots up and shows the memory as a sum of both the memories and seems to be working fine but is it safe for the pc and the memory sticks themeselves.. I am using a...
DDR3L vs DDR3 Benchmark and Performance? - Tom's Hardware …
2014年8月11日 · The DDR3L (DDR3 Low Voltage) standard is an addendum to the JESD79-3 DDR3 Memory Device Standard specifying low voltage devices. The DDR3L standard is 1.35V and has the label ’’PC3L’’ for its modules. Examples include DDR3L?800, DDR3L?1066, DDR3L?1333, and DDR3L?1600.
[SOLVED] Is it possible to combine DDR3 and DDR3L memory?
2022年5月17日 · It says it supports ddr3 dimms in the Memory Upgrade Information, but the problem is that if I mix ddr3 with a ddr3l that is already in the slot, it might damage both of my ram or, in the worst scenario, my motherboard. Please help. Sorry for my bad english.
DDR3 vs DDR3L - Tom's Hardware Forum
2018年2月10日 · DDR3L is just the same ram that uses less power than normal ram. Newer processors require less power to run and they also require the ram use less power or else it might lessen the life of the processor. Its not too much of a problem.
DDR3L RAM in DDR3 slot - Tom's Hardware Forum
2014年11月3日 · The JEDEC standard for DDR3 is 1.5 volts +/- 5%, and the JEDEC standard for DDR3L is 135 volts +/- 5%, these values should be observed when stability and interoperability are important. As I mentioned previously, all of the major manufacturers that sell DDR3L chips (Micron, Samsung, and Hynix) use the same chip for both DDR3 and DDR3L variants.
