Dartmouth Pottery did design and produce their own version of the gurgle jug called a Cod Fish jug which was mould marked 144, but this was anatomically incorrect and had a tail likely to break during manufacture. Those that were made have been seen in copper green as well as the metallic colours of gold, copper and silver.

2021年12月29日 · Gluggle jugs, with their distinguishing fish shape, have become synonymous with Dartmouth pottery. Called ‘Gluggle’ because of their characteristic ‘glug glug’ sound when poured, they were originally made in Staffordshire back in the 1870s.

A classic English fish gluggle or glug jug in a rare satin white glaze by Dartmouth Pottery, c1960s. With a sweeping curled tail and wide open mouth, the jug makes a distinctive gurgling sound when liquid is poured from the fish's mouth. Approximately 18cm tall and 12cm at its widest point.

Vintage Dartmouth, Devon, England green grey Majolica pottery gurgling fish pitcher. This one created circa 1950. Makes glug sound when used to pour water. Good condition but one small nick to the base. Wear consistent with age and use. See Detailed Pictures.
