2021年3月1日 · 4.) FKR prioritizes invisible rulebooks over visible rulebooks. 5.) FKR is a High-Trust play style. It's only going to work if you trust that the DM is fair, knowledgeable, and is going to make clear, consistent rulings. 6.) Boardgames (and some very crunchy RPGs) derive their fun from manipulating abstract rules to your advantage.

2022年12月30日 · What's more, I'm thinking about maybe reviving my old blog and start talking about FKR stuff, not just to help me organize my thoughts but also to see if I can add anything to the conversation (my prediction is that I won't, except for maybe some stupid jokes and references to new wave music, which is kind of what I do all the time anyway).
How we FKR : r/Fkr - Reddit
Yes, FKR put a label to how we were trying to play as well and help us refine it. We’ve definitely found a higher chance of success works well for a campaign with FKR. There is a really useful feature of 2d6 that most people can’t do the probabilities in their heads, and I think a little bit of uncertainty helps people focus on the fiction.
Clearing up some misunderstandings about FKR : r/RPGdesign
2021年2月22日 · FKR is a fascinating exploration of the roots of the RPG hobby, as a "what if" Arneson had never met Gygax. As Darkwormcolt describes it, it's not "old school", it's "paleo-school". As u/ludifex accurately stated, FKR is a High …
FKR, the way we define it : r/Fkr - Reddit
2023年9月11日 · After reading many blogs, game systems, and playing games, I take FKR as doing what makes sense for the story rather than forcing game mechanics. This is sometimes seen as the "rule of cool" or "GM fiat". But I think if everyone trusts each other and knows they are playing for the run of the story, then it is ok.
My understanding of FKR. Do I have this right? : r/Fkr - Reddit
2023年1月10日 · The GM in FKR is still held to consistency with the world and characters, that is what makes a good story and characters. In real life a very weak orc might still be able to wound Conan if Conan just happens to slip on blood and the orc has the shining sunrise behind them, even though Conan just killed twenty orcs previously without a scratch.

FKR recently landed on my radar while researching elements for an OSR game I've been putting together. Being the consummate nerd that I am, I've gone down a rabbit hole reading up on it. While I am finding tons of blog posts and even YT videos discussing the philosophy, I can't seem to find any YT videos or the like of the process in action (in ...
What is FKR in relation to the OSR? : r/osr - Reddit
2023年10月12日 · The term "FKR" means "Free Kriegspiel Renaissance", by analogy to OSR. It was a term that gained popularity a few years ago (maybe as a result of the Blackmoor documentary). It basically means an RPG where the GM decides outcomes by fiat or intuition rather than by following detailed or authoritative rules.
What are the best actual-play's of FKR games? : r/osr - Reddit
2021年4月30日 · FKR is an attempt to get even more edge lord than I am. I think it can go too far. My advice ti play OD&D, or any other early RPG before things get to bogged down in rules for everything. To all the FKR purists out there who use no rules - Your (grammar intentionally incorrect to illicit cringe factor) Doin' it Wrong.

2022年4月7日 · So I've been there when FKR exploded: game (and play) theory discussions happened, other games (as in non-rpg) mined for ideas - it was awesome to discuss ideas with like-minded folks. Many of us made minimalist games to support this mentality. This fervor in the movement slowed down now, but FKR as a whole is definitely still going.
