2024年1月29日 · The hinges on my 68 Charger are a little hookie but not too bad yet. You may luck out finding a decent used pair from a low mile car. If you send them out for rebuild, I know there are a couple other shops out there but I would expect to spend more money these days with everything seems like prices have doubled since the Covid years.

2020年4月22日 · Alot going on with hood hinges, meaning there is a lot of adjustment and on top of that is the fenders themselves which the hinges are bolted to. Normally, yo would get the fenders aligned with the gaps set, then you would add the hinges and adjust the hood and lastly you would add the pins.

2024年3月11日 · Right now I have no springs on the hinges at all. The springs do two things, they hold the hood UP and then they pull the back corners DOWN so the hood fits flush at the rear. With no springs you have to push the back down after closing the hood.

2020年5月21日 · Another reason for those "kits", they are not factory for sure, on 62-65 hinges is that the door side hinge half is hardened like plate steel and can't be drilled with standard bits and reamers. I have to use solid carbide drills and reames to rebuild these hinges properly. Most people don't know that and will ruin a few bits to find out.

I measured two reference spots to the floor in cm; one at the latch start wheel and the other the lip of the door bottom about halfway. Used the idiot proof tool and got really close on my first attempt.
