Daewoo Precision Industries K2 assault rifle is the service rifle of the South Korean military. It was developed by the South Korean Agency for Defense Development and manufactured by SNT Motiv (formerly Daewoo Precision Industries) and Dasan Machineries (since 2016).

The K2 assault rifle is broadly based on the US M16A1 rifle, but with several important alterations to better suit needs of the Korean army. The most important change is a long-stroke gas piston system, apparently inspired by the Russian Kalashnikov AK assault rifle .
