2001年9月9日 · The grip of the katana is perfectly designed for traditional two handed use, but in one handed use, suffers greatly in comparison to the saber grip. Yes, the thumb can be placed on the tsuba for a certain amount of control, but by and large I think it's safe to say that the katana makes almost as poor of a saber as a saber does a katana.

2008年7月23日 · After purchasing a Katana Artist 100 gen II a year and some ago I fought with the download process and became thoroughly disgusted with it. Almost trashing it. My grandson did the download and I became interested in it again. I found that to me the download was not that important. I changed the speaker to a TT 12 which was a big improvement.

2005年3月13日 · The edge on a katana and most swords is hard, so it holds a good edge. It will chip, and dull with impact of another blade. THe ideal way is simply to cut them down before they can make a cut. If necessary, the flat or back of the blade is supposed to be used. This is what happens when you block edge-to-edge.

2001年2月21日 · Rigidity is a subjective thing, alot of katana smiths (non-japanese) can relieve the stress from the hamon to give alot of flex ability like a euro sword (john lundemo I know does this using a salt bath temper, i'm unsure of how howard clark does it).

2014年8月27日 · Well since you're askin', the best one of those that I've ever seen and held was made by Dan Keffeler. Made like a proper, real katana, but had a titanium guard and hardware, and a blood-chilling blade made from very high-end steel. It was a custom-made blade though, not a mass-production piece.

2002年1月4日 · The katana is vastly overhyped. Don't get me wrong I like katana as much as the next guy, I think they are beautiful and they certainly are a good sword design. However this idea that they are better then any other sword type is the purest yishvish. Traditional katana are differentially heat treated with the edge being harder then the spine.
