Kiefer William Frederick Dempsey George Rufus Sutherland[2] (born 21 December 1966) [3] is a Canadian actor. He is best known for his starring role as Jack Bauer [4] in the Fox drama series 24 (2001–2010, 2014), for which he won a Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award.

Kiefer got his first film role in the comedy drama Max Dugan Returns (1983). Sutherland's first major role was in the Canadian drama The Bay Boy (1984), which earned Sutherland and director Daniel Petrie, Genie award nominations for best actor and best director, respectively.

Kiefer Sutherland is a British-Canadian actor who has starred or played prominent roles in films and television series over several decades, including Stand by Me, The Lost Boys, Young Guns, Flatliners, A Few Good Men, Dark City and most notably Jack Bauer in the Fox drama series 24.
