2002年11月24日 · The M38A1 has heavy duty spring packs, larger diameter tie rods, added frame boxing in places, 24 volt electric system. those are the major differences, probably others I've forgotten. Most of that stuff we change out with lift kits, steering conversions and other stuff.

2024年5月29日 · Rescued this M38A1 out of the Santa Cruz mountains back in March of 2024. The funny thing is I saw this Jeep when it was with it's 3rd owner and was less than a mile away from my house maybe 2 years prior. Drove some 80 miles to get it. I was told by the 3rd owner that it was very clean, original and had very little rust.

2006年7月16日 · M38A1-C had an "open" rear tub for the 106mm rifle and ammo racks. A standard CJ5 tailgate will exactly fit in the opening and may have been retrofitted. An M38A1-C will also have right-side mounted gas can and spare tire, or show the bolt holes where they once were. Ax and shovel mounts also differ from plain A1's. Have fun, regardless. Pete

2010年4月4日 · An M38A1 fuel pump should have a hand primer handle/lever. It is obviously a dual action pump of course. The only thing you can really do is a side by side comparison for the cam contact arm angle with a known correct F/L head fuel pump.

2007年2月19日 · The M38A1/CJ-5 exists only BECAUSE of the F-head motor. The short cowl of the CJ3A/M38 wouldn't fit the taller profile of the F-head motor. Same reason the 3B exists. Mine is just over 20,000 serial # and is a 1952. It had the early fenders on it as well when I got it but they were damaged. I have a 1953 as well, and it has the later fenders.
