Karl Bushby (born 30 March 1969) is a British ex-paratrooper, walking adventurer and author, currently attempting to be the first person to completely walk an unbroken path around the world. Bushby's trek is known as the Goliath Expedition .

Dave Kunst (born July 16, 1939) is the first person independently verified to have walked around the Earth. [1] The walk was intended to be achieved along with his brother John, but during the event John was shot and killed by bandits, and Dave wounded; Dave resumed and completed the walk with another brother, Peter.

In a pedestrian circumnavigation, travelers must move around the globe and return to their starting point by their own power, either walking or running. The Guinness Book of World Records sets the requirements for a circumnavigation on foot as having traveled 18,000 miles, and crossed four continents. [ 1 ]

The first person reputed to have walked round the world is George Matthew Schilling (USA) from 1897 to 1904. The first verified achievement was by David Kunst (USA) from 20 June 1970 to 5 October 1974, who walked 23,250 km (14,450 miles) through four continents.
