2014年9月4日 · MAWP stands for Maximum Allowable Working Pressure, and is the maximum pressure that the weakest point of a system can handle. When a gun, grenade, fog horn, or whatever goes off by his head, the high air pressure in the sound wave exceeds the MAWP of his ear and damages the weakest part, the eardrum.

2019年9月8日 · It’s a callback to Archer’s tinnitus. Early in the show he talks about how loud noises mess with his hearing and going “mawp” helps him regain the hearing by hearing himself make a sound to recognize a real sound vs the ringing in his ears.

2022年6月1日 · Relief valves/burst disks are set at the MAWP or just above it, and are secondary pressure control devices. The MAWP is slightly higher than the primary pressure control devices settings. Primary pressure control devices are your pump switches, compensators, backpressure. regulators, or non-ASME rated relief valves.

Section VIII Div 1 requires a hydrotest pressure of 130% of its MAWP meaning the low pressure side is never designed at less than 10/13th of the high side. They call this the 10/13th rule. Had I been designing this heat exchanger, I would have designed to 400 shellside and 308 tubeside regardless of my tubeside process conditions.

2015年3月7日 · The worst part about it (after having it to begin with) is I can't figure out where the hell it came from. I can't remember any exceptionally loud noise that set it off and generally I try to avoid excessively loud music.

2019年6月17日 · Design pressure and MAWP are essential the same thing. Design pressure applies to piping systems and MAWP to pressure vessels. For the most part these are the maximum pressures the components are designed to handle. MOP would be lower than either of those pressures and is the maximum pressure would run your process at.
