The production of monocrotaline by Crotalaria can be influenced by some factors, such as water availability, plant nutrition and pest and/or pathogen attack (Schramm et al., 2019), as well as occurs in other species of Fabaceae that produce chemical defense compounds (Almeida-Cortez et al., 2004; Lima et al., 2017).
