Irish Mythology has alot of stories about the Otherworld and in it it seems like there is a physical contact between this and their world. The age of heroes (the age of demi-gods) in greek mythology have many stories where the worlds seem to very much coincide. I do believe the story of Theseus has a Minotaur in it.
