If you want to stop syncing OneDrive on your computer because you are on a metered or slow internet connection, you can Pause and Resume your sync. Pausing and Resuming can also help if OneDrive status displays "Processing changes" for a long time.

To Pause OneDrive select then select Pause syncing and select the time duration you want to pause syncing, or Resume syncing. For more information, refer to How to Pause and Resume sync in OneDrive .

Pause syncing a library using the new OneDrive sync app. Select the OneDrive for work or school icon in the Windows notification area at the bottom of your screen, and select the Settings icon. Select Pause syncing, and choose 2 hours, 8 hours, or 24 hours.
