In its time the Raleigh Tourist DL-1 was the only 28-inch wheel bicycle of its type sold in America. The Tourist, known as the policeman's bicycle, is used by the English Bobbies. The limousine of bicycles, it gives you the smoothest, most comfortable ride you've ever had.

2015年10月19日 · The ride quality of the Tourist is pretty much as expected. Its tall, fat tires roll over bumps with ease and the springy frame soaks up whatever is left. It actually feels a little less heavy and "crashy" over bumps than my smaller Raleigh Sports despite it weighing (only?) two pounds more - 47 pounds vs. 45, for the record.

2015年1月9日 · In September 2009 I was lucky enough to come by a 1974 Raleigh Tourist DL-1 gents roadster bicycle. The owner was reluctant to sell the bike, however, he was downsizing his somewhat large collection of vintage bicycles and needed to sell some to make room in his house.

2013年11月10日 · While this blog will mostly be concerned with restoring, maintaining, admiring, and customizing the classic Raleigh Tourist DL-1 Rod Brake bikes, I thought that I'd take this opportunity to mention that, in Denmark, you can still buy a brand new Raleigh bike based on the same classic frame geometry and styling today, in 2011!

2015年7月10日 · My very own 1975 Raleigh DL-1 Tourist! It's so long that it almost doesn't fit in my usual "photo frame area." Surprisingly enough, it lay comfortably in the back of my friend's '07 Ford Escape with the front wheel turned 90 degrees.

2009年9月1日 · This is a Raleigh DL-1 Lady's Tourist - one of the best known original loop-frame bicycles. I got it from a very nice local collector, and I really can't thank him enough. The 22" frame feels tailor made for me. The actual height of the saddle is the same as on my 21" Lady's Sports, because the seat tube on the DL1 is considerably more slack.

2016年8月31日 · A few more pictures of my 1978 Raleigh DL-1 Tourist. This is a relatively 'late' model DL-1, with no reflector and no white rear fender tip. While there were some changes made to the DL-1 over the years, this bicycle is still very much like the earlier models dating back to the early 20th century.
