5 天之前 · Here's a Jan 2024 update from the WW&F: - WW&F 10: Work in late 2023 - early 2024 has focused on the smokebox, smokebox door (which is original to the locomotive, but needs a set of adaptors to fit the new, larger smokebox), and running gear.

Interestingly, several pleas for historic photos of Redondo Jct. on the RyPN Interchange discussion list went unheeded, though numerous photos should be available, causing this writer to wonder if any of us really give a damn about saving historic rail sites at all.
TrainOrders: "No More Bashing the UP Steam Program!" - RyPN
4 天之前 · I've found Trainorders to be a good source for modern day railroading but their steam and excursion section doesn't provide much in the way of actual news. Occasionally an interesting tidbit comes down the line and they do have some good technical info but I've found RYPN to have much more comprehensive and reliable coverage of preservation news.
