Activation and Deployment: SARNAK can be activated by calling New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Dispatch in Ray Brook at 518-891-0235. SARNAK cannot be activated by individuals, only official emergency response agencies.

SARNAK is a community service organization that works with the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation and law enforcement agencies in searches, administering first aid and evacuating lost, stranded, sick and injured people.
Scholarship | Search and Rescue of the Northern Adirondacks
Scholarship is paid to recipient upon SARNAK’s receipt of successful completion of training, along with receipt for amount paid for the course; Scholarship for New York State Search and Rescue Personnel – One Scholarship of up to $250 per year. Applicants must complete all of the above
Membership | Search and Rescue of the Northern Adirondacks
SARNAK is always looking for new members who are interested in helping sick, lost or injured people in the backcountry. We accept a Spring and Fall cohort. New member applications are due October 1st and April 1st each year.
Training | Search and Rescue of the Northern Adirondacks - SARNAK
Active members of SARNAK are required to attend six trainings each year. Candidates are required to attend three consecutive training sessions to be considered for membership. Training Schedule: All trainings are held in the Lake Placid – Saranac Lake – Tupper Lake area.
