2019年12月18日 · The filler color has to be as close as possible to the final stained wood color. There are wax- and sharpie-type pens and I have a few but frankly they never work for me. You can buy them in a set of 3-6 wood colors for around $10 and your can give it a try. You'll probably be more successful with actual paint.

After letting it dry thoroughly over many days and sanding down smooth, I stained it over the weekend - disaster. The areas with the filler did not stain and are a grey color. The rest of the desk is dark brown (Jacobean) and really shiny which I don't like.

2015年6月16日 · Assuming the problem is the stainable wood filler didn't take the stain all you have to do is color the filler with touch up markers and graining pens. You can get a set of three touch up markers at walmart which is light medium and dark. Graining pens you will have to get from a furniture finish supplier.

2005年12月13日 · The easiest way to get a good match is to use a filler crayon to fill the holes after you have completely finished the piece. Minwax and a few other companies make them. Sawdust and glue won't look anything like the surrounding wood and won't absorb the finish the same way. John W.
