Ta Som (Khmer: ប្រាសាទតាសោម) is a small temple at Angkor, Cambodia, built at the end of the 12th century for King Jayavarman VII. It is located north east of Angkor Thom and just east of Neak Pean.

Ta Som is a medium-sized temple in the Bayon style. This means, it’s a Buddhist monument from the late 12th century. Architecture and decorations are typical of the reign of Jayavarman VII, whose fame is to have built more structures than any other Khmer king.

Ta Som was built towards the end of the 12th century as part of the great building program by King Jayavarman VII. It is a Buddhist temple built in the Bayon style and dedicated to Jayavarman’s father, Dharanindravarman II.

2022年9月25日 · Located 30 min (17 km) northeast of Siem Reap city and 15 min from Angkor Wat, Ta Som is an easy and peaceful temple to visit. The temple is entered from the western gate, has a flat layout, is easy to navigate and the total distance from the western outer gate to the eastern outer gate is only 200m.

2022年11月20日 · Ta Som is one of the smaller temple sites in the Angkor Archeological Park and very little restoration work has been done. One of the most prominent features of the site is the huge strangler fig tree which has engulfed the eastern gopura or gate.

You can visit between 05:30 and 18:00 but to do so you need to buy an entry ticket for the Angkor Archaeological Park which costs $37 USD for a 1 day pass, $62 USD for a 2 day pass and $72 USD for a three day pass.

Prasat Ta Som Temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the east of Nean Pean. The temple was built in the 12 century by the Khmer King Jayavarman VII
