German submarine U-673 was a Type VIIC U-boat of Nazi Germany 's Kriegsmarine during World War II. The submarine was laid down on 20 January 1942 at the Howaldtswerke yard at Hamburg, launched on 27 February 1943, and commissioned on 8 May 1943 under the command of Oberleutnant zur See Gerhard Haelbich.

Unlike many other U-boats, which during their service lost men due to accidents and various other causes, U-673 did not suffer any casualties (we know of) until the time of her loss. The U-boat War in World War Two (Kriegsmarine, 1939-1945) and World War One (Kaiserliche Marine, 1914-1918) and the Allied efforts to counter the threat.
