The redesign of 2010 has redrawn the United Airlines logo, creating a calmer and more professional badge, set in a blue-and-white color palette. The new concept was based on a two leveled inscription in a bold serif font, followed by a blue square emblem with a white globe on it.

In September 1974, United introduced a new logo designed by famed logo creator Saul Bass. The logo features a stylized "U" slanted 68 degrees. It sometimes goes by the nickname: "the tulip". It also marked the return of the full name (albeit with "Airlines" being one word this time).

The new logo features a stylized U by linking six marquise-shaped segments which represent the six continents that United Airline flies to. It is round in totality which is a nod to Continental's previous globe logo. We believe the merger poses a great opportunity to totally recreate a new identity for United Airline.
