Waterfowl Hunting. Waterfowl hunting opportunities are offered by draw, reserved hunts, and self-service. Daily drawings for draw units are held at 4:30 a.m. during the regular waterfowl season. Please see the Waterfowl Rules and Map and Waterfowl Draw Schedule for more details.

All waterfowl draws take place daily at 4:30 a.m. CT at the Hovey Lake FWA office. Listed Waterfowl Units are hunted these dates only. All other units are hunted daily. Shooting hours are 1/2 hour before sunrise until 1 p.m. CT unless otherwise noted on calendar. East of Lake includes fields 1-3, Pecan Slough, Willow Slough and Cottonwood Slough.

Hovey Lake is dedicated to providing and maintaining quality hunting, fishing and wildlife-watching opportunities. The most common hunting species include waterfowl, deer, turkey and squirrel. Sometimes flooding often limits hunting opportunities.

Ducks Unlimited is returning to Hovey Lake Fish and Wildlife Area, a historic waterfowl migration and wintering area in southern Indiana. In 2016, Ducks Unlimited and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) created two new wetland management units at Hovey Lake, restoring 27 acres of habitat.

2005年1月3日 · Hovey's is closed to fishing during Waterfowl Hunting Season so you won't be able to fish it right now. I should be open to fishermen again by March 1st of 2005. Might want to check with the Office down there to make sure of the opening dates for fishing.
