Eight years before the start of the series, she was assassinated by Hody Jones, who had framed a human pirate as the instigator of the deed. She is one of the two posthumous overarching protagonists of the Fish-Man Island Arc (alongside Fisher Tiger). Unlike her husband and daughter, Otohime was a normal human-sized mermaid.

Finally, after several years of hard work, the citizens of Fishman Island begin to sign her petitions, bringing her to tears. In a shocking turn of events, the boxes that contained the petitions suddenly caught fire, and in the ensuing confusion, Otohime was fatally shot.

He shot Queen Otohime of Fish-Man Island and then framed a nearby human smuggler as his scapegoat, to increase support from the wider island community in persecuting humans.

The coup would move his dream forward of becoming the ruler of Fish-Man island and starting to create a world of enslaved humans. However, his actions coincided with the arrival of the Straw Hats.

2011年5月2日 · In her death Vander Decken IX and maybe his grandfather Vander Decken VII were involved. It was said by Papag that Decken's grandpa met his end years ago at Fishman Island. Remember she had that haki, so the only way she could be killed was with something unavoidable even with haki.

Hody Jones is a complete racist psychopath, who is filled with hatred toward humans that he killed Queen Otohime for wanting to be their friends, and ruined all her efforts by accusing a human. He is also willing to kill her daughter Shirahoshi, whom he mocked for feeling no grudge toward him.

Otohime is one of the few people of Fishman Island who does not hold any hatred or prejudice against humans, and while she has seen evil humans and pirates kidnapping some Fishmen, she chooses not to judge all humans based on the few interactions they've had with them.
