2024年8月20日 · The near 100-acre lake at Smithtown’s Blydenburgh County Park has been drained. The lake’s dam and concrete bridge collapsed, releasing millions of gallons of water into the Nissequogue River following the Monday morning storm that ripped through the area.

Blydenburgh County Park is a recommended getaway place in Long Island and the drive from Queens was not too bad, taking about 40-50 minutes. During COVID-19 period, there is no parking fee charged but the parking space is limited.
