In the spring I cut a nice straight 8 inch diameter,10 ft long white spruce,peeled it and cut it in half lengthways with the chainsaw,shaped the ends rough with the saw,then planed it smooth on the cut end.Also rasped off and planed a couple small knots on the surface.

2024年10月21日 · Seen them built into a wall stud before. I run threaded rod between a 2X4 on each side of the bottom of the beam then a cross board at each end for stability. A vertical 2x4 on a hinge screwed to the bottom of the beam allows it to fold up out of the way when not on use a couple pieces of scrap holds the bottom of the support 2X4 in place.
