For me, the only reason to visit San Miguel de Allende is to soak in the wonderful water that is La Gruta Spa. For 250 pesos you can soak all day from 7 in the morning to 5 in the evening. And if you know how to do it, you can catch a bus there for between 10-15 pesos. If there is a negative, sometimes the local excited residents get a bit loud.
