2012年2月14日 · If I was you, I would build a 5x5x5 room with the Nether Portal in the middle (Ghasts won't spawn inside there because of the portal in the middle) and a iron door (You may have to replace it after Ghast attacks) and under it a second floor containing your Nether base, which should be 3x4x4 or sth like that (SMALLER THAN 5x5x5!!).

2014年3月3日 · The only time I had a Nether Portal in my house was in Alpha. I quickly learned that the sound of the portal drove me insane as minecrafter147 said. I usually either build a small structure to contain the portal or place it a good distance away from my house.

2015年4月26日 · Then when I started draining the monument, I started on the same level my Nether portal is on (the second level) and worked my way around. I apparently cleared the room underneath the penthouse without realizing the big opening in the ceiling with water above it went to another room rather than the outside. Yeah.

2019年10月23日 · Which’s made me build 4X4 (so they can be ridden - dismounted of course to portal - and the player then portals separately, too) - no head-hitting! (one less threat in the nether, “a gimmee”) - rooms sideways, portals vertically, and so always these flanking the nether portals. Empty space for more natural and original portaling-in, movement.
