Since 1769, St. Charles, Missouri, a restored historic city on the Missouri River, has been welcoming visitors to its shores. Founded by French Canadian fur trader Louis Blanchette, the city was named Les Petites Cotes, ("The Little Hills"), which later evolved into Saint Charles.

The City of Saint Charles is heating up the cold weather by combining two of our most popular events, Fete de Glace and Bowls and Brews! Watch ice carvers turn blocks of ice into beautiful, sparkling creations while enjoying some of the best beer and chili in the area.

The City of St. Charles Animal Shelter always has a variety of animals that are available for adoption to anyone, regardless of place of residence. If you are interested in adopting a new pet, visit our shelter at 2835 W. Randolph Street (63301) during the Shelter Hours (Tuesday - Saturday, 10am - 3pm).

Vince Ratchford is a Council Member for Ward 3 who has been engaged in City affairs for nearly 30 years. His career in video production began at the Cable Television Office and the City of St. Louis Communications Division. Ratchford moved to Saint Charles in 2009 with his wife, Kim, and are raising two teenage sons.
