Thomas Carmichael Hindman Jr. (January 28, 1828 – September 28, 1868) was an American lawyer, politician, and a senior officer of the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War. Born in Knoxville, Tennessee , he later moved to Mississippi and became involved in politics.

He was appointed colonel of the 2nd Arkansas Infantry June 12, 1861, and brigadier general in September of the same year. He and his brigade took a conspicuous part in the Battle of Shiloh. He was wounded in that battle, and was promoted major general April 18, 1862.

Though only seventeen years old when war with Mexico came in 1846, Thomas Hindman, Jr. helped raise a company of volunteers in Tippah County, Mississippi. The troops became Company E, 2nd Mississippi Volunteers.
