Jesus, in John 8, made an often overlooked but profound statement regarding who he was and part of how he is one with God. Jesus stated, "Truly, truly I say to you, before Abraham was born, I AM." (John 8:58). The Lord is directly implying He was the God or Jehovah who spoke to Moses through a burning bush (Exodus 3:14).

God is a personal, all-powerful, all-knowing, eternal, loving, spirit-composed family currently composed of the Father and Jesus Christ (see John 10:30 - 31, 17:20 - 23, 1John 3:1 - 2). The Being known as the Father is the Sovereign Ruler of all. He has always possessed righteous character and is full of mercy and grace.

Jesus' Divinity. Concerning Jesus, the Bible boldly states that he was always divine along with the Father. Scripture states the following in this regard. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God . . . All things came into being through Him, and not even one thing that was created came into being without Him.

* Because Jesus and the Father are both one and distinct, we can say that God ‘sent his son into the world’ - (John 3:16), and also that Jesus came into the world (1 Tim 1:15) - we are speaking about essentially the same action on the part of God, but on the one hand, God the Father sends, on the other, God the Son comes.

Jesus is a member of the Godhead Who came in human form to this earth. After dying for our sins and resurrected, he took his rightful place at the right hand of God, the Father. Jesus now possesses the same kind of existence he had before the creation of the world.

But with the coming of Jesus, this forced Christians to extend their thinking on just what God was like. In the New Testament, Jesus made it clear that not only was he the son of the Father [John 8:42 & 14:9], but he was also God, right from the beginning [John 1:1-3 & 1:14]. The HS becomes significantly more prominent in the New Testament as well.

When Jesus was resurrected to an external existence he became 'the firstborn from the dead' (Colossians 1:18) and the beginning of the God family. He was the literal transition from God as a KIND to God as a family! Romans 1:14 confirms this when it states that he was "declared to be the Son of God with power . . . by the resurrection from the ...

God made humans for a particular reason and purpose. Out of his perfect love, he wants to share ALL he has, forever, with as many beings as possible. First, however, he must develop in us holy righteous character, the same character he and Jesus have had eternally, so that we can fully appreciate all that he generously wants to give.

This Jesus has God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Therefore, having been exalted by the right hand of God, and having received the promise of the Holy Spirit from the Father, He has poured out this that you are now seeing and hearing (Acts 2:33, HBFV).

And He (God) said, "Call his name Lo- Ammi, for you are not My people, and I will not be your God." (Hosea 1:3 - 4, 6, 8 - 9, HBFV). New Testament Renaming. Only four people in the entire New Testament were given a new name. The Bible reveals that Jesus gave three of these during his earthly ministry.
