2021年11月27日 · Since winter is coming (or already here), at least in the Northern Hemisphere, it's seems like there's been an uptick in people asking about running in the cold/wind/snow/ice etc. So I figured I'd repost this helpful guide to cold weather running for people who haven't seen it before (or have and just want a refresh!).
Is there any good budget winter running gear out there?
2020年11月21日 · I've used Poshmark to buy all my winter running apparel! It takes a while to get used to the interface, but I've gotten great deals on gently used (and in some cases, new) base layers, a hat, buff, and mitts. Good luck!

When it comes to winter gear, I would recommend getting a set of winter tights, a winter running hat, winter running socks, a buff, and a winter running jacket. Your body will warm up around 10 degrees Celsius when you start to run, so be careful not to overdress. For running shoes, I wear my normal shoes. I find having thicker socks helps enough.

2021年8月14日 · I tend to overheat when running anyway, so I am usually fine on the colder winter days in medium thickness running trousers, a lighter thermal top and a second running top, and then a hat and gloves if required. As someone else mentioned, keeping your neck warm with a Buff scarf or similar is a good idea as well.

I was a baby last winter and just did treadmill running and then the winter before that was pretty mild and I was comfortable running in light layers (before that I was living in Hawaii and San Diego). My actual main winter running gear is stuff made by a company called Karrimor from the UK, the prices are VERY good and the Karrimor X winter running stuff is the best I have ever used. I got all my stuff in a sale last time I was in the UK and it's seen me through 3 winters of running and isn't showing any wear.

In the spring, I'll take a shoe that can drain water as I don't want to be running in pools. If the roads are mostly clear, I'll put on a regular running shoe with tread.
