There were 166 (2500-2665) G2 class 4-6-2 Pacific type steam locomotives built between January 1906 and June 1914. Most were built by the CPR at Angus Shops however, 46 were built by Montreal Locomotive Works and 2 by Schenectady Locomotive Works in the U.S.

CPR 2634 is, a 4-6-2 G2 type built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in May 1913 (Ser#52660), seen here within in Crescent Park in downtown Moose Jaw probably during the late 1960s.

CPR 2634 the only G2 class steam locomotive out of 166 preserved. Nicely restored and protected from the elements. Note: For many years it was a typical park engine displayed outdoors as seen on June 7, 1973. Other CPR equipment includes MLW S-3 diesel 6553, combine 3321 and M-499 a 1936 Buick inspection car. Beginning in the early 1920s, the CPR replaced the Vaughan-Horsey superheater with the more widely used Schmidt Type A in many of its early Pacifics. See Locobase 15762 for the update.

The photo shows CPR 2634 being moved along Main Street in Moose Jaw on her way from her former home in Cresent Park to her present home at the Western Development Museum. The photo was taken in the early to mid 70s.
