0-6-0 is the Whyte notation designation for steam locomotives with a wheel arrangement of no leading wheels, six powered and coupled driving wheels on three axles, and no trailing wheels. Historically, this was the most common wheel arrangement used on both tender and tank locomotives in versions with both inside and outside cylinders .

2006年7月5日 · The 0-6-0 found a ready home switching passenger trains and working small yard and industrial switching jobs. Southern Pacific converted several of its 0-6-0 switchers into tank engines and assigned them to work in shops and roundhouses.

The USRA 0-6-0 was a USRA standard class of steam locomotive designed under the control of the United States Railroad Administration, the nationalized railroad system in the United States during World War I.

Used for the Detroit & Mackinac's executive trains in the 1970s. Awaiting restoration. From Green Bros Sand & Gravel. Currently the only operational PRR steam locomotive. Cosmetically restored between 1987 and 1989. Asbestos removed and some sheet metal are replaced. Under a roof and currently needing further restoration efforts.

The Caledonian Railway 812 and 652 Classes were 0-6-0 steam tender locomotives designed by John F. McIntosh for the Caledonian Railway and introduced in 1899. They had the same boiler type as the 721 “Dunalastair” Class 4-4-0s .

2016年12月23日 · Eleventh Avenue on Manhattan's West Side, one of the main surface freight lines through the city, was known for decades as "Death Avenue" because of the trains that shuttled freight cars along it. Although the train followed a man on horseback waving a red flag (day) or red light (night), pedestrians still ran afoul of the New York Central tracks.

2023年11月25日 · WOODSTOWN, N.J. — SMS Rail Lines Alco 0-6-0 locomotive No. 9 has been certified for operation by the Federal Railroad Administration after a 14-year restoration at the SMS shops in Bridgeport, N.J.
