2007年4月16日 · Re: 0000 steel wool I don't dout your good results. I'm happy you had good results. For me, at any angle, you can see the light scratches. Up close. The way I used it was with car soap. Lots of suds and water after I spray and wiped off any loose dirt. I used my metal polish and all it did was give it a decent shine.

2008年9月24日 · But before that. I took a #0000 steel wool and Turtle wax Polishing compound & scratch remover and rubbed it on my headlights. That scratched the surface heavily. So then i did 3 passes of #83 w/ 8006 pad and then 1 pass of plastx on both with 8006 pad and then 1 pass of plastx w/ 9006 pad on both headlights.

2010年3月9日 · So, I did a test spot with some #0000 steel wool and rubbed gently and it removed it. While detailing her car this weekend, I did the rest of the chrome trim using #0000 steel wool and for a lube/polish I used Meg's Hot Rim Chrome Polish. It worked great, and the chrome trim really shines now!

2012年7月26日 · I just stripped 27 year old clearcoat off my car's machined aluminum rims. There isnt any pitting, but there are a lot of white marks (aluminum oxide?) and some dark spots. I sprayed and scrubbed with aluminum wheel cleaner. Rubbing compound and aluminum polish (both by hand) havent removed the imperfections.

2011年7月6日 · Granted, I kept after mine from the start, but its just metal polish (looks like I used NXt in that photo, it is from a couple years back. Would be Hot Rims M&A now.) and the #0000 steel wool. Maybe a last pass with terry cloth on the tips. I am sure the lighting was friendly, but still.. I just laid under there and went at it.

2011年12月13日 · I don't know how #0000 steel wool would work with chrome or windows so.....yeah. For the glass, M04, M105, Ultimate Compound or any good cutting compound. M04 works wel because it uses Diminishing Abrasives and the abrasives begin very large, hence why it cuts through the water spots and dirt on the window so easily.

2009年7月12日 · Process - remove the wheels from the car. I used the wheel brighter with various brushes, and to remove the final brake dust residue, I used #0000 steel wool, which did no damage to the inner finish on the wheel. Someone will surely chime in about using the steel wool, but I choose to use it. Photos attached. Hope you like.

2009年5月12日 · Well Its been a while since Ive had a chance to really detail my car all out and My wheels and exhaust tips are in need of some advice, well I am haha Car is a 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis (106k miles) Wheels are factory original and have seen every IL winter sadly so maybe I need to have them refinished but I figured Id ask first.
