The BMW 02 Series is a range of sporty compact executive cars produced by German automaker BMW between 1966 and 1977, based on a shortened version of the New Class Sedans. The first 02 Series produced was the 1600-2 (later renamed 1602) in 1966.

Dedicated to the Charismatic 02 coupe/saloon models. The car that started it all was the 02 of the late 1960s and early ’70s. At that time, BMW needed to expand into new niche markets, and a range of light but powerful compact two-door cars was seen as the way to go.

The shaft-driven 4WD TT-02 chassis employs a longitudinal layout with the battery on the left and the motor on the right, to give excellent stability. In addition, it features identical left and right suspension arms and uprights for ease of assembly, plus easy-to-maintain gearboxes.

The souped up form of this rally car is recreated expertly by a polycarbonate body, and the model is based upon the shaft-driven 4WD TT-02 chassis. Plentiful stickers are included to decorate the car, as are gun metal color fin spoke wheels and racing radial tires.
