1st Regiment Royal Horse Artillery is a regiment of the Royal Horse Artillery in the British Army. It currently serves in the armoured field artillery role, and is equipped with the AS90 self-propelled gun. The regiment is currently based at Larkhill Garrison, Larkhill.

We are an armoured artillery regiment equipped with the Archer Self-Propelled Gun. In our regiment we offer a diverse range of skills, including: Target observation – observing and identify targets for artillery to strike. Forward Air Control – directing combat aircraft to employ their weapons in support of ground troops.

B Battery, Royal Horse Artillery is a Close Support Battery of 1st Regiment Royal Horse Artillery. It is currently based in Purvis Lines in Larkhill Camp. Following the French Revolution in 1789, an uneasy truce between England and France collapsed when, on 1 February 1793, Napoléon declared war on England.

B Battery RHA have been deployed in Oman as part of Exercise Saif Sareea, and taking our AS90s with them to deliver Artillery support across the sands. Working alongside the Royal Army of Oman, Soldiers and Officers of our Regiment have been working together at BattleGroup & Brigade level events.

The AS-90 ("Artillery System for the 1990s"), known officially as Gun Equipment 155 mm L131, is an armoured self-propelled artillery used by the British Army. It can fire standard charges up to 24.7 km (15.3 mi) using 39-calibre long barrel and 30 km (19 mi) with 52-calibre long barrel. [2] .

In November that year AS90 arrived and in spring 1993, B and E Batteries conducted in-service reliability trials. The Regiment took part in "RHA 200" to mark the bicentennial anniversary of the formation of the Royal Horse Artillery. In 1994, E Battery supported by the Chestnut Troop fired M109 for the last time in BATUS.
