John 11:40. What does John 11:40 mean? Jesus is reassuring Martha by reminding her of their prior conversation (John 11:17–27). Since Martha has spent some time learning from Him (Luke 10:38–42), this may also refer to other teachings she has absorbed. The reason for her doubt is that her brother has been in the grave for four days (John 11:17).
