In response to this imperative need, the Sindh Emergency Rescue Service (Rescue-1122) took a significant step by deploying 224 fully equipped ambulances through the health department in May 2022. Consequently, all emergency rescue services have been in full operation across all divisions since December 2022.

Rescue 1122 (Urdu: 1122 ایمرجنسی) is an emergency service that serves almost all regions of Pakistan including Punjab, KPK, Balochistan, Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. The service is accessible by dialing 1122 from any phone within Pakistan.

Designated as the managing organization for ambulatory services on behalf of the Government of Sindh, SIEHS-1122 delivers pre-hospital emergency services across the entire province, maintaining a fleet of state-of-the-art ambulances available 24/7.

Two hundred and twenty-four (224) state-of-the-art, fully equipped Rescue 1122 ambulances were acquired with funding from the World Bank. These ambulances have been officially handed over to the Health Department to fulfill the government’s mandate of delivering ambulatory services to the general public of Sindh Province.
