2018年10月14日 · I have a 12.5” SBR w/ Noveske barrel. Really like it, both in performance and size/weight. I’m looking to build another AR, and was thinking of a 14.5” w/ pinned flash hider, but have read a lot of posts from folks with a 13.7” who rave about the size/weight/performance.

2023年10月5日 · I currently have a 13.7 SBR. I've been thinking, always a bad thing, about building another SBR upper, is there really going to be that much difference with a shorter barrel? I have no interest or desire going shorter than 10.5" and even that is doubtful.

2015年11月3日 · The difference in ballistics as determined by barrel length of a 13.7" and 14.5" is negligible (as is 16" and 18"). The difference will be somewhat more pronounced with ammo choice. To me, a 13.7 isn't even an option unless I want a SBR (and I would not in that length). Get a pinned 14.5" or a 16" and call it a day.

A 14.5” with a lighter silencer and more reasonable mounting system makes more sense because for any given total length, you can have another 3/4” of baffles in your silencer instead of ...

2013年5月14日 · However since you have a shorter one, and want to have higher velocity and longer distance... sounds like the 13.7 is what you really want. There is no wrong to this, only how well you apply them right. I have a 11.5, but when the suppressor is on, that gets longer yet.

2021年6月23日 · Handling is definitely better on a 13.7 over 16in. I have found the 13.7 to be my favorite overall length when not suppressing. If I am suppressing I prefer 12.5. I use an sbr lower on my 13.7 too, because I do not like things being permanent. I have a suppressed 11.5 SBR.

2024年1月20日 · The JAKL is an excellent suppressor host and the 13.7 makes it the shortest length you can get without making it an sbr. That's why it's the most popular, the 16in let's you switch to whatever muzzle device you like.

2024年10月28日 · Today, we discuss a special DIY 13.7-inch AR-15 carbine build. Building a rifle is an involved process which requires tooling and knowledge. If your goal is a good home defense gun, any AR-15 will suffice. Frankly, I would skip the “building process” and just buy an entry level gun, then upgrade it over time.
